About
Anabelle joined HCB in March 2022 whilst studying the Graduate Diploma in Law at Cardiff University. After receiving a distinction in her Graduate Diploma in Law, Anabelle began working full time as a paralegal in the Education Department in June 2022. She assists predominantly with SEN matters including assisting families to secure an EHCP, securing specialist provision within the EHCP and securing specialist school placements with full Local Authority funding. Anabelle also has experience handling appeals to the Special Educational Needs Tribunal.
Anabelle became interested in pursuing a career in education law whilst working at a nursery where she supported children 1:1 who had special educational needs. She understands the difficulties both children and their families face to secure additional support within the education system and has firsthand experience within the sector itself. She wishes to combine her legal knowledge with her own experience assisting children with special educational needs, to support families navigating the complex process to gain additional support for their child.
Anabelle prides herself on providing clear, easy to understand advice to clients and offering reassurance to parents and families navigating what can be a complex and challenging process. Anabelle is passionate about supporting children, young people and their families to gain the additional educational support and suitable school placements that they are legally entitled to.
Testimonials
“I highly recommend Anabelle Rees of HCB who was highly organised, efficient and helpful during the ECHP process, guiding us through the maze of complexities. We achieved the outcome that was needed without the need for a tribunal and she was highly professional yet empathetic throughout.”
