Sharon Ferguson

Sharon qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and shortly afterwards moved from Wigan to Birmingham where she lived and worked for six years. During this time Sharon began specialising in all aspects of family law, representing predominantly high net-worth clients. She moved back to Wigan in 1997, joining a local firm of solicitors and becoming a salaried Partner. Sharon joined Widdows Mason in 2003 and became the first woman Equity Partner in the firm in 2007.

In her role, Sharon regularly deals with financial settlements following separation, Children Act proceedings, divorce and emergency remedies. She is a member of Resolution, an organisation of specialist family lawyers who believe in a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters. In 2011 she gained Resolution accredited specialist status after passing examinations in domestic abuse and children law - private.

Outside of work, Sharon enjoys spending time with her family, and is a Parent Governor at her local Primary School. She enjoys all sports, but particularly swimming, and at the moment is learning to play golf with varying degrees of success.
